A new fire brigade at ERIA doused a fire on the airport tarmac cargo area yesterday, averting what could have been a disaster.
“We worked extra hard,” said one firefighter, “and seeing how close the plane was made us work even harder.”
The firefighters worked tirelessly to contain and put out the fire that started in the cargo area dangerously close to a parked plane. The plane, a 747 carrying tons of expensive Windhill City chocolate was waiting to be unloaded.
“We managed to beat the blaze before anything melted,” said the watch commander for the fire station, “but just in case a few gallons of ice cream were standing by.”
