A radioactive alert at Second Norway’s freight facilities proved to be little more than a crate of dessert cakes brought in by a GridEx flight. The cakes apparently triggered the sensor which is designed to read particle matter in the air.
“We think it was when one of the cakes was opened that the powdered outside triggered the alarm,” said SNO’s Chief of Operations.
A team of investigators were sent to the site and proved the alarm to be false, and operations returned to normal in an hour.
“A lot happens here,” said a dock worker with his mouth full of cake, “you just wouldn’t believe it.”
