Some basic etiquette for grid flying:

PRE- FLIGHT

1) Clear cache the day before or at least sit on clear visible cache.
2) Before the grid flight begins tp to each airport and let it rez for you and store in your cache.
3) If you have never visited or flown into an airport, it is always good to go there look around and read the airport rules.
4) Remove AOs, don’t just turn them off.
5) If you are having lag issues and it is at all possible don’t use huds.
6) Do not wear scripted clothing or hair.
7) If lag is an issue, turn down your graphics setting to medium or low. and if possible a 250 M draw distance is good.
8) Choose a flying vehicle that is reliable on sim crossings.

TAKE OFF AND REZING:

9) There should never be more than one plane ready to take off on the runway and one rezzed for taxi. If people are attempting a dual or multi take off, please let them rez their planes and take off before rezzing the next plane.
9) As soon as the plane on the runway starts its’ take off, begin your taxi to the runway.
10) Do not rez a plane as one is taking off or landing.. Please wait for it to clear the sim crossing before you rez your plane.

ENROUTE:

11) It is better to fly slower across the crossings, especially recently.
12) Space yourselves out so that not more then two or three planes are in a sim.
12) It is best if two planes don’t cross the border at the same time. Please watch your mini maps and make sure that you are not entering a sim as someone is leaving it.
13) Try not to cross the sim in the corner.
14) Once you begin the sim crossing don’t touch any keys.

LANDING:

14) You may need to circle the sim in front of the runway before you land. If there is only one runway, please make sure that no one is taking off before you attempt to land.
15) After landing, taxi off the runway to the apron, stop your plane, and de-rez. If there is not a taxiway, stop your plane exit it, and de-rez asap.
16) If this is not the end of the grid flight please do not re -rez your plane while another one is landing. Let them land and then rez.
17) If you crash on the take off sim, return to sim and re-rez when there is an opening or tp to next airport on route.
18) If there is a designated crash sim airport, proceed to it and continue your journey to the next destination.
