Residents of the East River Community are alarmed over developments with the beast, which has not faltered in its hunting or terrorizing. To date no people have been attacked, though local leaders are taking it seriously and doing what they can.
Early this morning Chia Ferduccio, president of ERIA ordered a general order for all ERIA security to stand down. “Another security team will be taking over airport security for the time being…” was her only comment on this sudden decision.
Meanwhile, sophisticated equipment has been deployed all over the hill behind ERIA with private security forces guarding the area with heavy weaponry. Private military assets have been seen flying in and out of ERIA for days now including helicopters and jets. One may only assume that they are looking for the creature.
During a press conference with Chia, later that day, she was heard to say:
“Ladies and gentlemen, this will be a short one today as I am only here to give you all an update, so take good notes. The Virtual Coast Guard has been asked by an undetermined agency to lead the search for the creature. We believe it to be hiding somewhere in the hills behind the airport at this time. We urge the local residents to stay clear of this area as the VCG has assured me that they have the threat under control and confined to a small area in the hills. During this time ERIA is still open for business as normal and will continue to provide top notch service to all aircraft making use of the airport. There will be no questions, thank you”
The normally casual Chia was escorted out of the room by two men in suits into a private meeting with VCG officials, prompting many reporters to speculate that the danger of the beast has been grossly underestimated.
Khukuri Masala, a Senior Chief with the VCG, had this to say in their press conference:
“VCG personel are busy patrolling and conducting shore searches in and around settlements. We can’t divulge any information that pertains to this exact issue, but as you probably noticed there is a lot of activity.”
Reporters asked about the heavy transport trucks, which were customized with reinforced steel, but received no answer. When asked why VCG members were carrying anti-tank weapons, Khukuri said “I believe the RPG’s are to be used to damage and trap the creature.” Kuri continued with “There is no more time for more questions unfortunately, VCG Special Response Teams have been positioned in hospital area to protect casualties and staff.”
